I will be asking you to hand in these hand-written notes on the first Tuesday of term. I do not want to take in printed off sheets from the internet. This is NOT proper, valuable research.

You should focus on how effectively the writer´s choice of language, structure and form convey attitudes, values and feelings in the writing.
You must demonstrate your knowledge of literary and linguistic concepts through the effective use of terminology. (40 marks)
Spend a total of 1 hour on this.
Essay: Family Relationships
Consider and evaluate thedifferent ways in which the writers of your chosen texts examine the idea of change.
In your response you should:
- critically compare the use of language techniques and literary devices
- comment on and evaluate the contribution made by contextual factors to your understanding of your chosen texts (60 marks) - aim to complete this essay in 1 hour 45 minutes, including planning time.

Spend some time looking through articles from the Guardian "Family" Section:
and imagine how you would respond to any of these different articles if they appeared in Section A of the exam. What are the predominant Attitudes, Values and Ideas and how are Language, Structure and Form used to convey them?
