Week 2  - Saturday 7th April - Saturday 14th April

Saturday 7th April
60 mins Spend this time focusing on summaries. Again, look at the examples which are in the Past Papers. Test yourself by having ago at one or two.

Sunday 8th April
60 mins Spend today's revision time focusing on Question 2. There is a framework you can follow here in terms of both planning and writing, in order to ensure you secure the full 10 marks. Again look at the Practice Papers and attempt a couple of these questions. 

Monday 9th April
A day off!

Tuesday 10th April
50 mins Re-read The Third and Final Continent and Secrets and then write two 100 word answers for each story for the question "What is the dominant tone of voice in this story and how is it achieved?".

Wednesday 11th April
30 mins - Look at the questions on the IGCSE website about "The Yellow Wallpaper" and "Signalman". Re-read these 2 stories, making notes on how you would answer these questions if faced with them in an exam.

Thursday 12th April
50 mins - Write a full practice essay to the following question:
"Biff is destroyed by Willy's illusions"  - to what extent do you agree with this statement?
OR
50 mins 'Journey's End' - Write a full practice essay to the following question:
'What do you think makes Raleigh such a dramatic character in the play?' Support your answer with detailed references from the text.
(This has not come up yet in any paper)

Friday 13th April 
45 mins - Complete the following extract question (* remember): Re-read from the top of page 102 in "Death of A Salesman" to the end of page 105. How does Miller make this such a powerful section of the play?
OR
'Journey's End'
45 mins -  Do the following (*) question:
Re-read from the middle of page 88 (Stanhope: I thought I told you to come down to dinner at eight o'clock) to the end of the scene on page 91. Explore the ways the writer creates rising tension in this extract.

Saturday 14th April
30 mins - Read through all the key quotes you have put together on the leading characters in "Death of A Salesman" and check you have a good range of evidence to support an essay on any one of these characters.
OR
'Journey's End'
Make sure you have all the detail from your notes on the key characters in the play'
